Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This policy explains how Lumistra (shown on the App Store as “LED Light Controller: Lumistra”) handles your information. The app is provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore). Contact: hello@vomcore.com.
Short version
No account, no sign-up, no advertising, no Firebase or other analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no location and no tracking. Bluetooth talks only to the LED controller next to you. The only data that leaves your iPhone goes to RevenueCat: your purchase status and a few usage counters, tied to an anonymous ID and never to your name, email or advertising ID.
Bluetooth
Lumistra uses Bluetooth to find LED strip controllers near you and send them colors, brightness, effects and timer settings. This is a direct, local connection between your iPhone and the controller; the commands do not go through our servers or anyone else’s. The list of nearby controllers (their Bluetooth names and signal strength) is shown on screen and is not uploaded. Lumistra does not use Bluetooth to locate you or to scan for other kinds of devices. You can turn Bluetooth access off at any time in iOS Settings; the demo strip keeps working without it.
Location
Lumistra does not ask for your location and has no access to it. Bluetooth on iOS does not need location permission.
Photos and camera
“Colors from a photo” lets you pick a photo or take one. Lumistra reads it on your iPhone, at reduced size, to work out a few light colors. The photo is not uploaded, not shared and not kept in the app. Photo and camera access are asked for only when you use this feature.
What is stored on your device
- Your strips: the names you give them, the controller’s Bluetooth name and the identifier iOS assigns to it, and the command set confirmed by the flash test.
- Your settings: saved scenes, the last timer you wrote to each controller, that you finished the first-run screens, how many times you used a strip, and whether the App Store rating prompt has been shown.
- Usage counters described in the next section.
Deleting a strip in the app, or deleting the app, removes this.
Purchases and usage counters (RevenueCat)
Lumistra Pro is sold as a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are handled by the App Store and we never see your payment details. Whether your purchase is active is checked through RevenueCat, Inc., our purchase provider, using an anonymous identifier created on your device. It contains no name, email, phone number, location or advertising ID.
Attached to that anonymous identifier, the app also sends RevenueCat a small set of usage counters so we can see where people get stuck and improve the app:
- how many times the app was opened, and whether the first-run screens were finished;
- the result of the Bluetooth permission (allowed, denied, Bluetooth off or not supported);
- whether the demo strip was opened;
- the command set of the last controller you connected (for example “elk00” or “lednet”), how many strips you confirmed with the flash test and how many times you used a strip;
- which locked feature first, and most recently, opened the Pro screen.
These counters contain no strip names, colors, scenes, photos or Bluetooth identifiers. They are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat also receives the technical details any app request carries, such as your IP address, App Store country, app version and iOS version. RevenueCat’s own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
Links and email
“Contact” and the support button on the flash test screen open your Mail app with a message to us; the flash test version puts the controller’s Bluetooth name in the subject. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself. Privacy Policy and Terms open in an in-app browser; “Manage subscription” opens your App Store account. The rating prompt is Apple’s own system prompt.
What we do not do
No advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no data broker and no tracking across apps or websites. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Children
Lumistra is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights and contact
Because there is no account, we cannot tell which anonymous RevenueCat record is yours unless you give us the identifier. Most data is on your device and under your control; deleting the app removes it. For access or deletion requests, or any question, write to hello@vomcore.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new text is published here before the version that relies on it ships.
