It shows when golden hour and blue hour start at any spot, where the sun and moon rise and set on a live compass, and scores each sunrise and sunset from low, mid and high cloud so you know whether the sky is worth the trip. Which app tells me when golden hour starts?
Solvane shows the morning and evening golden hour and blue hour for any spot to the minute, along with sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset and moon phase.
Is there an app that predicts whether the sunset will be colorful?
Solvane reads low, mid and high cloud from MET Norway's forecast for each sunrise and sunset and turns it into a shoot score from muted to fiery. The score is an estimate from a weather model, not a promise.
How can I see where the sun will set from a location?
Solvane's compass shows where the sun and moon rise, travel and set; hold your phone up to the scene and drag through the day to see the path at any hour.
Does Solvane need an account or send my location anywhere?
Solvane has no account. Sun and moon positions are computed on the phone; only a rounded location is sent to MET Norway to fetch the cloud forecast.
