Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Shadeo handles your information. The app is provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore). Contact: hello@vomcore.com.

Short version

No account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics SDK and no crash reporter. Shadeo has no server of its own. Your skin type and settings stay on your iPhone. To show the UV forecast, your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) is sent to MET Norway’s public weather service.

Location

With your permission, Shadeo reads your location while the app is open, at low accuracy. It is used for two things only:

UV forecast: coordinates rounded to two decimal places (about 1 km) are sent to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway, api.met.no) to download the hourly UV forecast. No identifier is sent with them. MET Norway handles requests under its own privacy terms.
Place name: to show the name of your town, the coordinates are passed to Apple’s location service (the iOS geocoder), which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

Shadeo does not track your location in the background and does not keep a location history; only the last place is remembered on your iPhone so the app opens with a forecast. Without location permission Shadeo shows an example city.

What is stored on your device

Your answers: the skin type, usual sunscreen SPF and goal you picked on the first-run screens or in Settings. They set your burn-dose threshold and are not sent anywhere.
Sun session: the start time, SPF and the times you reapplied sunscreen during today’s session.
Forecast cache: the last UV forecast downloaded, so the app does not request it again before it expires.

Deleting the app removes all of this.

Notifications

Shade and sunscreen reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to a server to schedule them.

Payments

Shadeo Pro is sold as a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are handled by the App Store and we never see your payment details. Whether your purchase is active is verified through RevenueCat, Inc. using an anonymous identifier that contains no name, email, location or advertising ID.

What we do not do

No advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no data broker, no tracking across apps. We do not sell or share your data.

Health information

Your skin type is used on your iPhone only to estimate a burn dose. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Shadeo does not read or write Apple Health data.

Children

Shadeo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights and contact

We hold no account and no personal profile, so there is nothing on our side to access or delete; your data is on your device and deleting the app removes it. For any question, write to hello@vomcore.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new text is published here before the version that relies on it ships.
