Shadeo estimates your safe sun time from the hourly UV forecast for your location, your skin type and the SPF you wear, and shows the time to move into the shade. It is an estimate, not medical advice.
Is there an app that reminds me to reapply sunscreen?
Yes. When you start a sun session in Shadeo Pro, it reminds you to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and alerts you when your estimated UV dose reaches your limit.
How can I check the UV index for today on iPhone?
Shadeo shows the current UV index and today's hour-by-hour UV curve for your location, using forecast data from MET Norway, with the UV categories used by the WHO.
Does Shadeo need an account?
No. Shadeo works without an account and has no ads. Your location is used to fetch the UV forecast; your skin type and settings are kept on your iPhone.
How it works
The UV forecast comes from MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute); your location is rounded to about 1 km before it is sent. Your skin type and settings stay on your iPhone. Shadeo gives an estimate, not medical advice — clouds, reflection from water, sand or snow and how much sunscreen you apply change the real dose.
