Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Railvista handles your information. The app is provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore). Contact: hello@vomcore.com.
Short version
No account, no sign-up, no advertising and no crash reporter. Your location, if you allow it, is used only on your iPhone and is never sent to us.
Location
If you allow location access, Railvista uses your position on the device to center the map on you and, while you record a ride, to find the line you are on and show your speed against its limit. It is not uploaded, stored on a server or shared. You can turn location off at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
Map files
The map, the station list and the offline country packs are static files downloaded from our file host (Amazon Web Services, CloudFront). As with any website, the host needs your IP address to send the files back to you. We do not keep access logs for these files, and the requests carry no account, name or advertising identifier. Which part of the map you look at is not recorded by us.
What is stored on your device
- Preferences: theme, language, speed unit, the selected map layer, the last map position and that you finished the first-run screens.
- Rides: the rides you record: start and end time, the track with your speed along it, the distance, the lines you travelled and the nearest stations at the start and end.
- Downloaded data: offline country packs you chose to download and a cached copy of the station list.
Deleting a region in the app, or deleting the app, removes this. Apart from the usage counts below, nothing is uploaded.
Payments
Railvista Pro is sold as a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are handled by the App Store and we never see your payment details. Whether your purchase is active is verified through RevenueCat, Inc. using an anonymous identifier that contains no name, email, location or advertising ID.
Links you open
“View on OpenStreetMap” opens openstreetmap.org in your browser; that site has its own privacy policy.
Usage counts
To understand how the app is used and improve it, Railvista sends RevenueCat a few values tied to the same anonymous identifier: how many times the app was opened and whether the first-run screens were finished; whether location access was allowed or denied (never the location itself); whether you opened the sample ride; how many rides you have saved and their total distance in kilometres; the map layer you last picked; and what opened the Pro screen, the first time and most recently. They never include your position, routes, stations or speeds. These counts are not linked to your identity, are not used for advertising and are not sold.
What we do not do
No advertising SDK, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no data broker, no tracking across apps. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Children
Railvista is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights and contact
We hold no account and no personal profile; your data is on your device and under your control. The only things kept on our side are the anonymous purchase record and the usage counts at RevenueCat; to have them deleted, write to the address below (the record is anonymous, so we may ask for your App Store receipt to find it). Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new text is published here before the version that relies on it ships.
