These terms cover the Mirepoix app, provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore), Ankara, Türkiye. Installing or using the app means you accept them.

What the app is

Mirepoix is a cookery reference: the five mother sauces, their derivatives, a set of dishes and the technique behind them, with ratios, quantities and step-by-step method. It runs entirely on your device.

Cooking is yours to judge

Temperatures, times and quantities are written for a normal domestic hob and are a starting point, not a guarantee. Your pan, your heat and your ingredients differ from ours. You are responsible for cooking food to a safe temperature, for handling hot fat and sharp knives, and for checking allergens. Recipes that contain raw or barely cooked egg are marked in the app; they are not suitable during pregnancy, for young children or for anyone immunocompromised. We are not liable for the outcome of a dish or for any illness, injury or loss arising from following the instructions.

Where the content comes from

The culinary facts — classical ratios, sequences and sauce names — are drawn from the public-domain French canon, chiefly Escoffier’s 1907 A Guide to Modern Cookery. Every line of prose in the app is written for this app. Mirepoix is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any restaurant guide, rating body, restaurant or chef.

Free and Pro

The whole sauce tree is browsable for free, along with the five mother sauces, the recipe of the day, search and a small number of saved recipes. Pro unlocks the derivative sauces, all dishes, all technique lessons, cook mode, serving scaling and unlimited saves.

Purchases and renewal

Pro is sold as a weekly, monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The yearly plan starts with a three-day free trial; if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts to a paid year. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store account settings. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm. The lifetime purchase is one payment and does not renew. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them.

Your content

Notes and bookmarks you create stay on your device and belong to you. We never receive them, so we cannot restore them if the app is deleted or the device is lost.

Acceptable use

You may use Mirepoix for your own cooking, at home or professionally. You may not redistribute, resell or republish the app’s text as a collection, or use it to train a model.

Changes and ending

Features may change between versions. If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the new text is published here before the version that relies on it ships. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it; cancel any subscription in your App Store settings first.
