How do I make an APA citation from a DOI on iPhone?
Open Citelle, paste the DOI (or the doi.org link) and tap Find. Citelle asks doi.org and Crossref for the article's record and formats it in APA 7 with the in-text citation; switch the style to MLA or Chicago and the same entry reformats.
How can I check if the sources ChatGPT gave me are real?
Paste the answer into Citelle's AI source check. Each reference line is looked up in Crossref, Semantic Scholar and Open Library. A 'not found' result is not proof that a source is fake, since some local journals and grey literature aren't indexed, so look those up before citing them.
Can Citelle cite a book by scanning its barcode?
Yes. Point the camera at the ISBN barcode on the back cover; Citelle reads the ISBN and fills in author, title, year and publisher from Open Library.
Does Citelle have an account or upload my bibliography?
No account and no Citelle server. Bibliographies are stored on the iPhone. When you look a source up, only the DOI, ISBN, link or title you typed is sent to doi.org, Crossref, Open Library, Semantic Scholar or the linked web page; purchases go through Apple and RevenueCat.

How it works
When you look up a source, only what you typed or scanned is sent to doi.org, Crossref, Open Library, Semantic Scholar or the web page you linked, to read the record. Photos and camera frames are processed on the iPhone with Apple’s Vision framework and never uploaded. Your bibliographies are stored only on your device.
