BoscoraTree identifier & field notes

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Boscora is provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore). Contact: hello@vomcore.com.

Photos used for identification

When you tap Find possible species, Boscora sends the photos you selected and their whole-tree, leaf or bark labels over an encrypted connection to our identification relay. The relay sends the selected photos to Anthropic's Claude Haiku service and returns possible tree species. The relay does not save the photos or log their contents. Anthropic processes the photos under its commercial terms. Photos are not sent merely because you take or select them.

Field notebook

Selected photos, dates, optional notes and saved candidate names are stored in the app's documents on your iPhone. You can delete an observation and its saved photos in the app. Deleting the app removes its local observations. Your device backup settings may include app documents in an iCloud or computer backup; we do not operate a separate field-note cloud service or require an account.

Permissions and data not collected

Camera access is used only when you choose to take a photo. Photo library access is used only when you choose an image. Boscora does not request your location, contacts or advertising identifier; it has no advertising or analytics SDK.

Purchases

If in-app purchases are enabled, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user identifier and purchase information to determine access and restore purchases. We do not receive your card details. Purchase records may remain with Apple and RevenueCat under their respective policies.

Deletion and contact

Delete individual field notes in Boscora, or remove the app to erase its local data. For questions about relay data or to request assistance with purchase-related data, email hello@vomcore.com. Because our relay stores no uploaded photos, there is no relay photo archive to delete.
