This policy explains how Skyvane handles your information. The app is provided by Volkan Günay (Vomcore). Contact: hello@vomcore.com.
Short version
No account, no sign-up, no advertising, no crash reporter and no server of ours. Skyvane does not ask for your location, camera, contacts or any other permission.
Weather requests
To show a report, the app asks the Aviation Weather Center of the U.S. National Weather Service (aviationweather.gov, NOAA) for the METAR, TAF and runway data of the airport codes you saved or opened. The request contains those airport codes and a generic app identifier; like any web request it reveals your IP address to that service, which handles it under its own policy. It contains no name, account, location or advertising ID.
What is stored on your device
- Your airports: the list of saved airports and which one is home.
- Personal minimums and units: crosswind, ceiling and visibility limits, and unit choices.
- Last reports: the most recent weather and runway data, so the app can show them offline with their age.
- Preferences: that you finished the first-run screens.
Deleting the app deletes all of this. Apart from the usage counts below, nothing is uploaded.
Payments
Pilot Pass is sold as a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are handled by the App Store and we never see your payment details. Whether your purchase is active is verified through RevenueCat, Inc. using an anonymous identifier that contains no name, email, location or advertising ID.
Usage counts
To understand how the app is used and improve it, Skyvane sends RevenueCat a few values tied to the same anonymous identifier: how many times the app was opened and whether the first-run screens were finished; how many pasted reports you decoded and how many stations you opened in the line-by-line view; whether you used the flight window; how many airports are on your board; and what opened the Pro screen, the first time and most recently. They never include report text, airport codes or your location. These counts are not linked to your identity, are not used for advertising and are not sold.
What we do not do
No advertising SDK, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no data broker, no tracking across apps. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Children
Skyvane is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights and contact
We hold no account and no personal profile; your data is on your device and under your control. The only things kept on our side are the anonymous purchase record and the usage counts at RevenueCat; to have them deleted, write to the address below (the record is anonymous, so we may ask for your App Store receipt to find it). Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new text is published here before the version that relies on it ships.
