What Does Dreaming of Water Mean?
Traditional Interpretation
In traditional interpretation (Ibn Sirin), water is considered life and provision itself; clear, clean water may point to lawful provision, abundance, and a blessed life, while murky or dirty water may point to sorrow, hardship in livelihood, or illness. Drinking water is interpreted as attaining a good life, and entering water as deliverance from fears and troubles.
Psychological View
In modern psychology (in Jung's approach), water is the symbol of the unconscious and the emotional world; the state of the water can reflect the calm or turbulence of one's inner life. Bathing in water or diving into it may point to a desire for emotional renewal and for cleansing oneself of past guilt and burdens.
