What Does Dreaming of a Spider Mean?
Traditional Interpretation
In traditional interpretation, especially in the readings of Ibn Sirin and Imam Nabulsi, the spider carries a double meaning: on one hand it may point to a devout, pious person given to worship; on the other, it may signify a weak yet deceitful enemy who lays traps in secret, or a hidden threat. It is generally read as a cautionary symbol advising attentiveness to the relationships and intentions around you.
Psychological View
From a modern psychological perspective, the spider can often represent creeping anxieties, the feeling of being "caught in the web" of an uncontrollable situation, or a repressed tension. In the Jungian approach, because of the web it weaves, it may at times also point to the creative, enveloping, and transformative "mother/feminine" archetype.

A Black Spider
According to Ibn Sirin it may point to an unexpected rise and to gaining rank and prestige, while some sources also read it as domestic tension and arguments.
A White Spider
It may symbolize a person engaged in charitable works who is peaceful and at ease; it can also signify cleansing from past mistakes and inner peace.
